Nursing Sister - Private Clinical Practice (6 Months Contract)

Provides care to patients attending to the Radiology department of the practice. Cares for patients undergoing diagnostic radiology imaging and interventional radiology procedures.

Responsibilities include:-

*Assesses a patient’s prior and current health, including any allergies and other health issues according to the pre-assessment procedures stipulated in the Interventional Radiology Clinic Standard Operating Procedures regarding in-patients and out-patients.
*Ensures the Managing Radiologist and the practice have gained informed consent from the patient or the patient’s primary care giver for the procedures to be carried out.
*Ensures patient safety, welfare and comfort before the procedure.
*Checks if the patient has any allergies.
*Checks and ensures the consent form is signed.
*Responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of individualized patient care, working in partnership with patients, their careers and the Radiologist to ensure the patient’s needs are met.
*Works as an effective and responsible team member supporting others by demonstrating good practice including utilizing mechanisms to develop and implement new ways of working.
*Priorities own workload and ensure effective time-management strategies are embedded in own practice and act in a manner that promotes quality of care.
*Aware of infection prevention and control policies, practices and guidelines appropriate for your duties and you must follow these at all times to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff
*Checks stock levels of the sundries and drugs used in procedure.
*Conducts physical checks of the patients as per Doctor’s instructions.
