A technically strong and hands-on Projects Electrical Engineer is required to lead electrical works across a diverse portfolio of construction, infrastructure, healthcare, and industrial projects. Our client is seeking a capable professional to oversee electrical engineering activities from design review and mobilisation through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, compliance, and delivery.
This role is ideal for a confident engineer with strong site experience, sound technical judgement, and the ability to coordinate contractors, consultants, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead electrical engineering works from design review and mobilisation through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs, method statements, inspection and test plans, shop drawings, and technical submissions
• Supervise electrical installations including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, earthing, lightning protection, backup power, and low-voltage systems
• Provide technical oversight of electrical works for roads, borehole, ready-mix batching, infrastructure, and other projects, including pumps, motors, controls, instrumentation, and site power
• Coordinate electrical works with mechanical, civil, structural, architectural, ICT, medical-gas, and specialist project teams
• Inspect workmanship and materials, witness testing, manage non-conformances, and ensure compliance with approved designs, standards, and safety requirements
• Supervise subcontractors and monitor electrical works against approved designs, specifications, quality standards, programme, and project requirements
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, snag lists, commissioning records, as-built information, variation inputs, and handover documentation
• Interface effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, statutory authorities, and internal project teams
• Promote safe systems of work, right-first-time delivery, and effective technical practices across project sites
Qualifications & Experience
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised institution
• Professional registration with the relevant engineering body is strongly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in construction, infrastructure, building services, industrial, or related project environments
• Demonstrable experience in at least two of the following: healthcare projects, roads and infrastructure, borehole drilling and pumping systems, ready-mix batching plants, industrial facilities, or major building projects
• Experience in electrical installation, contractor supervision, inspection, testing, commissioning, snagging, and practical troubleshooting is essential
• Strong understanding of electrical safety, construction quality control, technical documentation, and engineering standards
• Excellent leadership, planning, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
