This role is ideal for a confident engineer with strong site experience, sound technical judgement, and the ability to coordinate contractors, consultants, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead mechanical engineering works from design review through procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, BOQs, equipment schedules, method statements, and technical submissions
• Supervise mechanical services including water supply, drainage, hot-water systems, pumps, HVAC, ventilation, fire protection, and associated plant
• Provide technical oversight of borehole drilling and pumping systems, ready-mix batching plants, roads and infrastructure projects, and other mechanical works
• Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, civil, structural, architectural, and specialist project teams
• Inspect equipment, materials, installations, pressure testing, performance testing, and commissioning activities
• Supervise contractors, manage technical queries and non-conformances, and monitor quality, programme, and project risks
• Support procurement, equipment selection, technical evaluations, and expediting of mechanical requirements
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, statutory requirements, quality standards, and HSE requirements
• Prepare progress reports, inspection records, commissioning documentation, as-built information, snag lists, and handover documentation
Qualifications & Experience
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised institution
• Professional registration with the relevant engineering body is strongly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in construction, infrastructure, industrial, plant, building services, or related projects
• Demonstrable experience in at least two of the following: healthcare projects, roads and infrastructure, borehole drilling and pumping, ready-mix batching plants, water systems, HVAC, fire protection, or major building projects
• Experience in plant and equipment installation, contractor supervision, testing, commissioning, and practical troubleshooting is essential
• Strong understanding of mechanical building services, construction quality control, technical documentation, and engineering standards
• Excellent leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills
