Financial Accountant

Role Overview
Our client in financial services is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Accountant with 3–5 years of proven experience in the banking industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, compliance, and analysis to support strategic decision-making, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and contribute to operational efficiency, risk management, sustainable business growth, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes

Duties and Responsibilities
Financial reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and banking regulations.
Regulatory compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws, banking sector standards, and statutory requirements.
Budgeting & forecasting: Develop budgets, forecasts, and conduct variance analysis.
Internal controls: Strengthen internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.
Audit support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing documentation and explanations.
Cash flow management: Monitor liquidity, reconcile accounts, and manage treasury functions.
Stakeholder collaboration: Partner with management, compliance, and operations teams to align financial strategies with business goals

Qualification and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CA) is an added advantage.
3–5 years of accounting experience within the banking sector.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and banking compliance frameworks.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, SAP, QuickBooks, or banking-specific systems).
