Job Purpose:
To lead and optimize mining operations in copper extraction, ensuring efficiency, safety, and sustainability. The Mining Engineer will apply technical expertise and industry experience to oversee mine planning, production, and resource management, while driving innovation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement mine plans, schedules, and designs for copper mining operations.
Lead feasibility studies, resource evaluations, and cost-benefit analyses for mining projects.
Supervise drilling, blasting, and ore extraction processes to maximize recovery and minimize waste.
Ensure compliance with mining regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
Collaborate with geologists, metallurgists, and other technical teams to optimize ore processing.
Manage budgets, forecasts, and performance monitoring for mining operations.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and mining staff.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for operational challenges.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in mining methods, equipment utilization, and productivity.
Liaise with government agencies, contractors, and stakeholders to support project execution.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
12–15 years of professional experience in copper mining operations.
Proven expertise in mine planning, design, and production management.
Strong knowledge of copper ore geology, extraction techniques, and processing methods.
Demonstrated leadership in managing large-scale mining projects and teams.
Proficiency in mining software and technical reporting.
