Our client is seeking a highly motivated Exploration Geologist to join their dynamic team. This role is central to advancing gold exploration projects across Zimbabwe and requires a resilient professional with strong technical expertise and field experience. The successful candidate will contribute to discovery-focused exploration, integrating geophysical, geochemical, and geological data to generate high-potential targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Target generation through integration of geophysical datasets (IP and Magnetic surveys) with mapped geological information.
- Sampling of sediments, soils, and rocks for geochemical analysis.
- Interpretation of mapped geological data to guide exploration steps.
- Preparation of weekly and monthly reports to support project evaluation.
- Logging of diamond and RC drilling samples.
- Planning and supervising drill holes with 100% safety compliance and adherence to budget.
- Application of remote sensing and GIS technology for exploration.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to support resource evaluation.
- Use of geological software (ArcGIS, QGIS, ArcPro) for mapping and modeling.
- Identification and prioritization of orogenic gold mineralization systems.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all exploration activities.
Requirements:
- 4–7 years’ work experience in exploration sites (gold deposits preferred).
- Must be a Zimbabwean citizen.
- Strong expertise in gold exploration, with proven fieldwork experience in mapping, sampling, and drill supervision.
- Solid understanding of structural controls on gold mineralization.
- Ability to thrive in remote and challenging environments under pressure.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
