Our client, a renowned manufacturer in the precision engineering sector and manufacturer of industrial gearboxes, winches, and hoists, is seeking an experienced Turners to join their team. The ideal candidates should have a strong background in operating manual and/or CNC lathes, with the ability to work with precision and accuracy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and maintaining precise
tolerances.
Measuring and inspection abilities using micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
Working with mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and cast iron.
Cutting speeds, feeds, and tool wear.
Sharpening and lathe maintenance.
CNC processing and collaborating with CNC operators/programmers.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.
Experience and Skills:
Minimum 5 years in a general engineering workshop operating manual and/or CNC
lathes.
Proficient in center lathe operation, including setup, tooling, and accurate machining.
Skilled in facing, boring, threading (internal/external), taper turning, and drilling.
