Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

The Incumbent Shall Be Responsible For Effectively And Competently Leading, Directing, And Managing The Electrical And Instrumentation Team Through Planning, Coordinating And Supervising All Activities Within The Work Scope.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
Plan, Coordinate And Overally Supervise All Electrical And Instrumentation Maintenance Activities Within The Estate And Ethanol Factory To Maximize Ethanol And Electrical Power Generation.
Design, Develop, Test, Maintain And Modify Existing And New Control Systems.
Manage Operations Through Critically Analyzing Data And Presenting Findings In Written Reports To Management.
Generate And Upgrade Standard Operating Procedures As Related To Electrical And Instrumentation Profession.
Provide Technical Advice And Consultancy Support.
Craft And Continuously Monitor An Annual Operating And Capital Departmental Budget.
Assess And Coordinate All Projects Within Area Of Responsibility For Compliance With Applicable Regulations, Engineering Principles And Company Standards.
Liaise Closely And Effectively With Key Management (Human Resources, Finance, Factory, Production, Engineering, Procurement And Agriculture Operations) To Ensure Work Is Efficiently Carried Out To Maximize Production Of Ethanol And Electricity.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge And Skills
Degree In Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
Registered Member Of a Recognized Engineering Institute.
Minimum Of 10 Years Post Graduate Experience As An Engineer Of Which 5 Should Have Been Spent In a Heavy Manufacturing/Process Industry Preferably Sugar Milling And Power Generation.
Demonstrate a High Level Of Expertise In Industrial Automation With Reference To Distributed Control Systems (Dcs), Programmable Logic Controllers (Plc) And Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (Scada).
Proven Experience And Licensing In Handling (11-33kv) Electrical Generation, Synchronizing And Distribution.
Ability To Analyse Problems, Identify Solutions, Project Consequences Of Proposed Actions And Implement Recommendations In Support Of Goals.
Ability To Resolve Electrical And Instrumentation Challenges With Minimum Consultancy Involvement.
Excellent Organizational And Interpersonal Skills.
People And Project Management Skills.
