Our Client In The Mining Sector Is Looking To Employ a Metallurgical Engineer. The successful Candidate Shall Be Responsible For Evaluating The Chemical And Physical Properties Of Alloys And Metallic Materials To Be Used For Construction And Other Industrial Purposes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead investigations into continual quality and productivity improvements in Melting, Casting, and Rolling root cause analysis of product defects
Conduct parts performance analyses
Determining materials used in the foundry, applicable specifications and requirements
Identification and development of novel alloys and processing techniques to improve performance, cost and quality
Collaboration with Quality Engineering on control plan definition, materials production test protocols, initial process validation and re-validation
Performing Failure Analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action for process and part anomalies or Quality check failures
Experience in preparing material samples (grind, polish and etch) for metallographic examination
Qualifications and Experience
Ideal incumbent must have a minimum of 3 years working experience in a similar role
Must have at least a bachelor's degree in science, metallurgical engineering, engineering, chemical engineering or any other related degree
