Our Client In The Agri/Tobacco Sector Is Looking To Hire A Well Experienced Laboratory Supervisor. The Incumbent Will Be Responsible For Overseeing The Daily Operations Of The Laboratory. The Incumbent Shall Also Be Responsible For Facilitating The Collection, Analysis, And Interpretation Of Laboratory Results.
Key Accountabilities Of The Role
Oversee Multiple Laboratories Specializing In Soil, Leaf, Water, Nematode Id, And Biological Testing.
Establish, Maintain, And Continuously Improve Laboratories Sops Based On Iso 170125 Supported By Iso 9001, 14001, 26001, And 45001, Local Regulations And Aligned To ESG And SDG Standards.
Supervise And Coordinate Daily Laboratories Activities.
Develop And Enforce Quality Control Procedures, With Measurable KPIS.
Create Connections With Local And Regional Scientists And Operations In The Field Of Soil Science, Agronomy, Biocontrol, And Carbon Market.
Foster The Professional Development Of Laboratory Personnel, Ensuring Competence And Adherence To Standards.
Oversee The Calibration And Maintenance Of Laboratories Equipment.
Oversee The Laboratory Budgets And Oversee The Invoicing Process.
Contribute To The Development And Execution Of Strategic Plans Aligned With Laboratory Goals.
Develop And Implement Marketing Strategies To Enhance The Laboratory's Visibility And Attract New Clients.
Establish And Enforce Health And Safety Protocols And Procedures.
Manage The Waste And Toxin Process To Ensure It Is As Safe As Possible Prior Release.
Ensure Compliance With Relevant Safety Regulations And Guidelines.
Conduct Risk Assessments And Implement Safety Measures.
Oversee Data Management And Maintaining Of Accurate Records.
Review And Validate Test Results And Reports.
Prepare And Submit Reports To Clients Or Regulatory Agencies.
Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Departments.
Work Closely With Scientists And Technicians To Ensure Accurate And Reliable Testing.
Create And Promote a Positive And Collaborative Work Environment.
Qualifications, Experience And Attributes
BSC Honors Degree In Chemistry (Biochemistry) Or Its Equivalent.
Five Years Of Experience In An Analytical Chemistry Environment, Two Of Which Should Be At a Supervisory Level
Strong Leadership Qualities To Effectively Supervise a Team, Provide Guidance And Support To Laboratory Staff, And Facilitate Clear Communication With Stakeholders, Including Clients, Regulatory Agencies, And Internal Departments.
Ability To Create Or Administer Functional Sops And Establish Quality Controls.
Knowledge Of Iso 14001, 45001 And 17025 QMS
Good Analytical Chemistry Skills
Ability To Work Independently And Under Extreme Pressure With a Level Of Detail And Accuracy.
